GeBE-COMPACT Twin Printer in VENDstation ticket vending machines from INIT

Germering, July 31, 2019.

The GeBE-COMPACT Twin thermal printer from GeBE Elektronik and Feinwerktechnik GmbH, Germering, Germany is now used in the stationary ticket vending machine VENDstation from INIT GmbH, Karlsruhe. The globally leading German company for integrated telematic solutions in public transport relies on this GeBE special printer, that combines two printing units with two paper rolls. This combination effects a big saving because if, instead of just about 600 meters, up to 1.2 or even up to 2.4 kilometers of paper with two Twin printers can be stored and processed, the service for changing the paper rolls only needs to be done half as often or even less frequently.

Additional advantages are that each of the two printer units is controlled individually and can therefore be placed individually according to the available space in the machine inside. The robust GeBE built-in printer is particularly suitable for use in the outdoor area. On the one hand, its very high printing speed of up to 200 mm/s prevents from pulling on the print at an early stage, thereby preventing damage caused by incorrect operation. On the other hand, it works reliably with matching paper in a temperature range of -20° C to +70° C. The extra high print resolution of 300 dpi ensures razor-sharp ticket layouts.

The two companies worked closely together to use the GeBE-COMPACT Twin printer in the VENDstation. This further development of a GeBE standard printer was based on the requirements of INIT. The telematics provider brings many years of know-how in the public transport sector and ensured the integration of the solution in the INIT application field.

Maximum benefits for use in vending machines

The GeBE-COMPACT Twin Printer represents another customer-specific adaptation of the already established GeBE-COMPACT ticket printer from the manufacturer GeBE. With high-quality printing unit, durable cutter and roll holder in environmentally resistant stainless steel design, it already brings along a maximum of benefits for public areas. In addition, it offers the highest level of flexibility in machine installation because each of the two printer units can be positioned independently. The sensor-determined paper roll diameter is always up-to-date so that the paper change takes place in good time. Thanks to the extra-large paper supply, this service intervals are much longer than usual now.

Thus, this printer scores with companies that operate in public transport, such as INIT. For the Karlsruhe-based company, additional individual adjustments were made by GeBE. Thus, optimized for use in machines, the GeBE-COMPACT Twin helps the operator to save effort and costs. GeBE develops and produces thermal printers according to customer requirements, starting with smaller quantities.
