GeBE Linerless Technology in self-service scale from Bizerba

The new GeBE-COMPACT Plus Linerless Printer with Linerless Cutter from GeBE Elektronik and Feinwerktechnik GmbH, Germany, is now used in a self-service scale from the German Company Bizerba SE & Co KG. The long-established and globally operating company is now using the latest development of the thermal printer specialist GeBE in its MC II 500 Pro series (see picture). The market requirements for thermal printers for the area of weighing technology are following the trend towards environmental-friendly, self-adhesive papers without carrier material (linerless papers). Therefore the aim of developing the „GeBE Linerless Technology“ was to accomplish a printer solution for both self-adhesive, environment-friendly paper types and highest service demands.

The GeBE-COMPACT Plus Linerless is a robust and comfortable thermal printer that effectively counteracts adhesive paper backs and allows maximum freedom in individual printing design. This GeBE printer remains nearly free of adhesion at all central contact points of the adhesive coating with the printer mechanism. Thanks to the special material composition of its knife, the Linerless Cutter does its job for a exceptionally long time without sticking. Using the GeBE-COMPACT Plus Linerless in practice means: Receiving the usually high GeBE printer quality and saving a lot of waste as well as a lot of cleaning costs.

Above-Average number of cuts without sticking and cleaning

Thermal printers in self-service scales always need to be thoroughly cleaned after printing a certain number of linerless labels to avoid being damaged – an unavoidable cost factor for the users and operators of the scales.

With the GeBE-COMPACT Plus Linerless printer GeBE relies on maximizing these service intervals – a good sales pitch for producers such as Bizerba. With the specified paper from Bizerba the GeBE printer processes an above-average number of labels without noticeable sticking and thus with significantly higher cleaning frequencies than usual.

This GeBE printer also meets the demand for a highest possible freedom in design for printouts of self-service scales. It allows almost every individual layout: logos, graphics, texts and barcodes are printed in best quality with up to 300 dpi. A sophisticated monitoring system also ensures reliable printing operation.

For example, an upcoming paper change can be displayed very early, so that unwanted interruptions to operation can be prevented.
