GeBE thermal printer in KEBA parcel lockers

GeBE Elektronik und Feinwerktechnik, Germany, now supplies customized thermal printers of their GeBE-COMPACT Plus series for the KePol FS-09 parcel lockers of KEBA AG in Austria (picture: exemplary illustration).

These self-service stations for parcels and other items are designed for outdoor use worldwide. They are available for deliverers as well as for customers day-and-night, seven days a week. In close cooperation with the global automation expert from Austria, GeBE adapted their thermal printer with Presenter to the special requirements for this application.

The lockers are specified for a wide temperature range from -25° C to +45° C. Therefore it was obligatory that the receipt printer inside does its printing jobs perfectly – even under harshest climatic conditions. KEBA chose the GeBE-COMPACT Plus printer with Presenter, which also was proven as receipt or ticket printer in different automated machines of other application areas. According to Michael Buchmüller, head of sales at GeBE, „1000 of these devices are currently in the field and they run extremely stable“.

Permanently safe and cost-saving

The GeBE-COMPACT Plus printer reliably handles all print jobs and the monitoring of various status indicators ensures the operation of the complex printer system. Mandatory service operations like paper changes are reported and can be planned ahead in a cost-saving manner. The comfortable Presenter guarantees that the print job has been completed and the paper has been cut off before the client can touch the paper. So damages to the printer mechanism due to improper handling at the selfservice station like pulling unfinished printouts too early or too firmly can be prevented and at the same time costs can be saved.
