Customizes OEM thermal printers' requirements:
New GeBE high performance thermal printer completely modular designed.
Germering, November 18th, 2020.
GeBE Elektronik und Feinwerktechnik GmbH is now defining a new standard with the revised high-performance thermal printers of the GeBE-COMPACT Plus C32 series in two print widths. Both are available with and without a presenter unit. With this completely modular thermal printer system with powerful C32 controller, almost every OEM printer requirements are met. The additional parts can be freely combined with the basic module, the printer unit. Every customer selects them for his individual printer application and thus saves himself additional adjustments later on. The basic idea that GeBE as a developer and manufacturer is pursuing with the new concept is reflected in practice: It is noticeably more convenient to build the printers in and they are more easily available.
Practical benefits achieved: Bezel increases vandalism protection and simplifies service handling.
One of the optional add-on parts for the new printer modules is the so-called bezel, a sophisticated plastic output unit in green or white and with an optional flashing function. In contrast to comparable designs common on the market, it has two major advantages for practical use: greater protection against vandalism and screw-free insertion into any housing front. Inside the housing, it then picks up the printer via a guide. This special mechanical construction facilitates service work, for example, because the printer and output front can now be separated from one another with just a small movement and without any tools.
In addition, the mounting brackets made of metal, the fixed or variable paper roll holders and the paper feeders represent further add on’s. One of them with a so-called dancer system, which makes it possible to use particularly large paper rolls (up to 250mm diameter). Finally, different cable lengths are important for a perfectly coordinated connection to the overall system – e.g. to connect the near paper end sensor (NPE) or the paper exit sensor.
The significantly increased system performance plays into the hand of all OEM applications that require the security and capacity of two-dimensional coding. Because here the complete QR code standard is displayed up to a size of 177 x 177 points in a resolution of up to 300dpi, without any loss of performance and at maximum printing speed. This happens regardless of the amount of data stored, either in a variable or fixed format.
One for all applications worldwide. Emulation of the previous system included.
The printer modules of the new GeBE-COMPACT Plus C32 series are available for paper widths from 54 to 86mm, are optionally connected via the RS232 or the USB interface and operated in the voltage range from 10.8 to 26.5V. On request, UNICODE character sets with up to 38374 characters can be implemented. This is an important argument for the international OEM business, because all world languages are printable, and completely new, diverse design options for the printouts are opening up.
Also GeBE customers who use GeBE-COMPACT Plus printers with the predecessor processor system have been considered: the new version emulates the previous A8 system. Therefore, in the event of a changeover, expensive adjustments can be dispensed with.
In practice the same thermal printer module can be used for almost all areas of applications now. If adaptations to the OEM application are desired beyond this newly defined standard, the manufacturer GeBE offers these from smaller quantities on.
