New setting for GeBE thermal printers for public transport:
Half-cut function for multiple ticket printing ex works now.
Germering, April 7th, 2022.
The manufacturer of thermal printing systems, GeBE Elektronik und Feinwerktechnik, Germany, is now supplementing the thermal printers with paper cutter, GeBE-PIANO Box and GeBE-PIANO, with a half-cut function using the „End of Ticket“ command (EOT). This enables millimeter-precise positioned partial cuts between multiple tickets before the entire print job ends with a full cut.
Thus, the GeBE printers offer clear advantages for OEM customers in the public transport sector. In practice, processing several tickets with one print job means above all: particularly fast and convenient ticketing.
Therefore, if required, programming work is often carried out by the customers in order to set up the desired half-cuts for printing group tickets, for example. However, there is often a lack of satisfactory precision of the cutting positions.
Thanks to the new programmed GeBE printers from now on partial cuts are always exactly where they should be, even over the long term, and there is no need for additional work or costs for the OEM customers.
Construction-related barrier evated. Practical advantages achieved.
Basically half-cuts are quite difficult to implement due to the position of the cutter within the printing system. Because of the technical flow of the printing and cutting process, the cutter would normally cut into the following ticket.
GeBE now successfully evaded this construction-related barrier by a special programming. Thanks to the new EOT command for a stable, millimeter-precise positioned half-cut function, complex customer programming and workarounds are finally a thing of the past.
The new cutting function can also be implemented by the manufacturer in thermal printers of other series. GeBE meets customer-specific adaptations even for smaller quantities.
GeBE will present the new half-cut function at the IT-Trans in Karlsruhe, Germany, hall 1, stand A10.
