Fully enclosed thermal printer system from GeBE for highest ticket security

The completely enclosed thermal printer GeBE-PIANO Box from GeBE Elektronik und Feinwerktechnik GmbH now ensures significantly higher ticket security in areas of ticket printing. The new GeBE development was based on the requirements of public transport. Because even a short strip of about 5 centimeters of ticket paper without imprint can have a value of more than 50 Euro the focus lied on the complete traceability of the paper. The goal was to reach an as high as possible efficiency against ticket fraud. Due to this fact now only authorised personnel can reach the inside of the GeBE-PIANO Box printer. This is where the sophisticated sensor technology is placed which accurately measures the paper movement independent of the printing process. The manual access to the paper roll is prevented by the shutter that can be opened only by command from the control computer. Due to an actuator, this process is always documented.

The new GeBE printer offers two options for checking the paper consumption by informing the system on demand of the calculated and the effective movement of the paper. The blackmark sensor controls the predetermined ticket length and, if necessary, an unusable last or first ticket section is reported as invalidated by the barcode scanner. For further control, each ticket is monitored via an exit sensor which reports each withdrawal to the system. The 1D scanner reads all usually used barcodes placed on the back of the ticket and reports any code, including the motor step position since powering up directly to the system. GeBE works closely together with leading thermal paper manufacturers and customises the printers of their product range even from small quantities.
