Scaled GeBE ticket printer now in use with AMCON.POS system

Germering, February 28th, 2023.

The GeBE-PIANO Box thermal printer from the manufacturer GeBE Elektronik und Feinwerktechnik GmbH now comes in a new, extra-large version. The Lower Saxony-based company AMCON Software GmbH has recently supplemented its AMCON.POS software for POS systems with the new ticket printer for secure ticket processing from Bavaria (picture: AMCON Software GmbH). Adapted to the customer’s requirements, the scaled thermal printing system is proving highly efficient in practice.

The standard version of the GeBE-PIANO Box ticket printer is designed for public transport requirements and already includes everything the software company from Cloppenburg needs for its POS system solution for ticket sales in public transport ticket offices. AMCON also specified that the printer had to be adapted for a significantly larger paper supply and that an additional manual opening device had to be installed.

With new dimensions, the customized ticket printer now stocks paper rolls with a diameter of up to 150mm. Compared with the standard printer, which holds rolls with a maximum diameter of 120mm, this means that the paper supply is about 75% larger, greatly reducing the number of paper changes required in practice. This saves a lot of time and ensures less stress and waiting times at the cash desk. Thanks to the retrofitted manual closing function, authorized employees in the ticket sales offices have access to the ticket paper at all times, independent of the standard software-controlled opening mechanism. GeBE realizes adaptations of thermal printers already from smaller quantities.

Secure printing, scanning, tracking.

All features of the GeBE-PIANO Box thermal printer are geared towards public transport ticket printing. It prints on papers with a thickness of 80 to 200µm, ensures an excellent print image with a resolution of 300dpi and handles both full and partial cuts. The printer unit offers various sensors that contribute to the highest possible operational reliability. The barcode scanner ensures seamless tracking of issued tickets, which are printed at high speeds of up to 250mm/s.

The protective, attractive housing can only be opened by a software command, thus preventing unauthorized access as well as theft of valuable ticket paper. Standard printers like this one are customized by the thermal printer specialist GeBE in a demand-based and cost-efficient way.
