Thermal printer GeBE-PIANO® Box

GeBE Elektronik und Feinwerktechnik GmbH now presents its latest thermal printer with many security features with the GeBE-PIANO® Box. It was primarily developed for the public transport sector. However, it is suitable for all applications where valuable ticket paper must be protected and the paper throughput must be accurately recorded. In addition to public transport, this includes access areas in leisure facilities, at sports events, and also ticket sales points. Following the highest standards, more was done here than simply packing the proven GeBE-PIANO printer into a sealed box:

In this new development, the printer system can only be accessed from within the connected host.

This prevents manipulation during normal operation. The printer reports can be delivered via a CRC-protected protocol. Transmissions disruptions are therefore virtually non-existent. And whether printed or not, every ticket that leaves the printer is sensor-controlled and recorded with position and time. Incomplete printed tickets at the beginning and end of the paper roll are automatically invalidated and returned. Ticket discrepancies, e.g. due to the removal of unprinted tickets, are therefore a thing of the past.

There is not a single euro missing at the end.

GeBE has also regulated access from the outside in a secure manner. The box itself cannot be opened manually, but only via software. This is ensured by the electronic lid locking mechanism. When mounted on a wall, the device is attached using an assembly plate with a locking device. It can only be removed by the person in charge with a key. GeBE supplies the new printer with a print resolution of up to 300 dpi and a adjustable paper width of 45 to 86 mm. This allows ISO tickets to be printed even horizontally. Customizations based on customer requirements are already implemented for smaller series.

The Germering-based company offers thermopapers specified for this and all other printers in its range; recently, it has also started offering phenol- and bisphenol-free and plastic-free versions for special OEM requirements.
