Services can thus be reduced and service costs can be significantly minimised. When developing the special printer, the focus was on the printer’s paper path, platen and cutter, which should be as unimpaired as possible when processing linerless papers. Self-adhesive papers without carrier material are transported with their exposed adhesive layer through the printer and must be cut through the adhesive material. This always brings a steadily growing contamination by adhesives.
With the GeBE-COMPACT Plus Linerless, a particularly low-service printer has now been developed for applications in which self-adhesive papers are to be printed and cut, such as for labeling in logistics or food packaging.
A long-term test with the Test Bench of the GeBE-COMPACT Plus Linerless printer confirms its unusually high cutting performance with minimal contamination. GeBE tested various papers, including papers with adhesives from artimelt AG , a Swiss manufacturer of high-quality melt adhesives. With paper using one of the artimelt adhesives, an above-average cutting performance of around one million cuts was achieved, while the cutting knives of the cutter remained nearly clean.
